ISC2 CNMC procured CYBER SAFE Educators Kits through a generous individual donation.
What is the Cyber Safe Program?
ISC2 members wanted a way to educate the most vulnerable members of society – children. The Center for Cyber Safety and Education’s Safe & Secure Online program brings ISC2’s information security experts into classrooms to help children ages 7-14 learn to become responsible digital citizens.
The ISC2 Safe and Secure Online Educators kits include:
- Lesson 1 Privacy;
- Lesson 2 Pause Before You Post; and
- Lesson 3 Be Kind Online.
Background
In December 2017, Safe and Secure Online Educator kits became available as a donation to ISC2 CNMC. A member presented the kits at two chapter meetings in 2018.
On March 19, 2018, the ISC2 CNMC gave a Tesuque Pueblo teacher the kits to initiate a Safe & Secure Online Educational Program.
Next Steps?
On April 12, 2018, Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) principals at Tesuque Pueblo are going to receive an introduction to the kits. A trip will be coordinated (To Be Determined) for a small CNMC team of approximately five trainers to train the teachers in how to present the material to their classes.
The ISC2 CNMC is committed to cybersecurity educational outreach and has donated (ISC)2 Safe and Secure Online educator kits to Tesuque Pueblo, for use by Elementary School educators.
